Can Life Experience really Count Towards a Degree? Absolutely yes. Top schools in the USA, Europe and other developed countries recognise life experience as creditable towards academic awards including degrees. Candidates who have skills, or have been exposed to specific fields of experience to a high level but who do not have the academic paperwork to back it up commonly suffer from difficulty getting promotion or even employment. Degree Xpress ensure that such individuals can get academic recognition for their skills and experience through a life experience degree within just 10 days. Globally accepted, the degrees are accredited by the prestigious private accrediting agency WDLC. Are the degrees advertised by Degree Xpress recognised and accepted around the world? As the private Universities awarding the degrees are legally instituted and able to confer degrees, their qualifications are recognisable and accepted at face value worldwide. The degree granting Universities are accredited by international organisations including the WDLC. Is Accreditation Important? Accreditation is not legally required. However, accreditation ensures that the institution conferring academic awards has been validated and meets a set of standards set by a governing board, guaranteeing that the degree offered is legal and of good quality. If your degree is not from an accredited University you run the risk that it will not be accepted by employers or others as genuine or indicative of your qualifications. All Xpress degrees are accredited by the World Distance Learning Council. For credit transfer purposes, Universities often only recognize degrees from other colleges accredited by the same agency or regional body. Literally thousands of accrediting agencies exist worldwide, some are open only to Universities within specific geographical areas. Therefore you must assume that your Xpress degree will not be useable for credit transfer, including using the degree as a qualification for entrance to a higher degree at a traditional University. There are some other purposes which people need degrees for which require national accreditation, for example immigration applications or obtaining visas. Because Xpress degrees are privately accredited, they are not suitable for such purposes. The vast majority of our clients have no interest in emigration, and neither the time nor the desire to attend a traditional institution to become further educated, so the questions of credit transfer and national accreditation are usually irrelevant. However, certain professions require degrees to have specific accreditation to allow them to be used as a professional qualification, for example law. It is your responsibility to ensure that the possession and use of a degree not accredited by a national agency is permitted by local legislation before ordering. I don't live in the USA or Europe, can I still graduate under the program? Yes, the program is available to any adult over the age of twenty-one, regardless of geographical location. What is included in the Graduation Package? You receive a fully legal, fully verifiable Degree, accredited by the WDLC, in your chosen major, issued by a bona fide private University. Like all graduates, your University will present you with a striking degree certificate as proof of your graduation, with the official University crest and your name and degree details entered upon it. The certificate, printed on quality diploma board and embossed by the University as genuine using an official crested diepress, comes in it's own graduate quality presentation wallet. You will also receive a letter of congratulation from the University Dean, and free membership to the University Alumni Association for one year, plus the fully ISO guideline compliant verification services for your degree in perpetuity. If you so choose, you can also order an additional, larger diploma suitable for framing, copies of your academic record with grades (known as transcripts), a current student ID card and several other useful accessories to your graduation. How long does it take to receive my degree? Your degree will be conferred within 10 days, and graduation package will be despatched to you by international priority mail or courier shortly thereafter. We recommend that you allow up to 28 days for international delivery of your degree documents, though they will normally arrive much sooner. Which Universities issue the degrees? We cannot reveal the names of the Universities we have arrangements with as this would be in breach of our confidentiality agreement. For obvious reasons, the Universities do not wish to get a reputation for issuing 'easy degrees', and neither do their graduates whose degrees would be devalued by such a reputation. Therefore, you will only discover the name of the University granting your degree when you receive your graduation package. We do NOT supply degrees issued by any of the 'well known' life experience 'Universities' that advertise on the internet. When you receive your degree and search for the name of the issuing University, we guarantee it will not appear on any list of 'diploma mills'. This is an obvious benefit, as any employer searching for the name of your University will find only the University's own website and not adverts offering degrees for money! Bear this in mind when choosing your degree provider: if you buy from a University openly advertising the sale of degrees in Google Adwords, what will your employer find when they type in the name of the University into Google to verify your degree? Exactly the same adverts! How would they view the value of your degree after that? We believe it is simply not worth the risk. All Universities we deal with are confirmed to be 100% legally operating private Universities. The University conferring your degree will be chosen by us on the basis of degree subject and overall suitability. It is not possible for you to choose a specific University or country of origin at this time. Can you send me samples of diplomas or transcripts? No, for three reasons. Firstly, there are too many variables, we could not send samples of every conceivable combination of University, course and degree level, therefore a sample would be meaningless. Secondly, samples would make the name of one or more of our partner Universities public knowledge, and as you already know from the previous question, this is not allowed by legal contract. Thirdly, you are purchasing a real, legal, degree and not just a pretty piece of paper, the diploma (whilst beautiful) is not the thing you are buying. Can I have my degree Apostilled? Not by us because we are not Apostille agents. If you need to have your papers apostilled you would need to approach an Apostille agent to do this for you. Do the degrees mention words like 'online' or 'life experience'? No, the degree you receive will look just like any normal degree, complete with University seal. The degree certificate carries your name, date of graduation, level of degree and major. There is no indication whatsoever that you have acquired the degree in any but the traditional manner. Will my degree allow me to use the title Doctor, or post nominal letters? As all the degrees issued by Universities we work with are legal and recognisable around the world, you are entitled to use any professional title or post nominal letters normally accorded to your degree, subject to the laws of your country. For example, if you enrol for a Doctorate degree you would be entitled in most countries to use the post nominal letters PhD, or the title Doctor, as you prefer. Bachelor and Masters degrees confer the postnominal letters BA/BSc/BEd/BD/BComm and MA/MSc/MEd/MBA/MPhil respectively. Can I get transcripts to show my employer? What If I Want a Degree in a Subject Not Listed? If you would like to specify an alternative major, you may do so using the supplied field on the enrollment form. The Universities we deal with will be asked to confer a degree in your choice of major. If you have the experience the degree major suggests, there won't be a problem with this. Please note that under no circumstances will the Universities we deal with confer degrees in medicine, law, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering (except electronic), nursing or similar fields under this program. The Universities also reserve the right to decline enrollment for degrees where the applicant does not show appropriate qualification through study or life experience, or where the public interest would not, in the opinion of the University, be served by conference of the degree. In such cases, the applicant may elect to receive a degree in an alternative field, or to receive a refund of any fees paid. Can fees be paid by check or money order, or other method? It is essential to our security and confidentiality procedures that we only accept payment through an independent credit card processor from the graduate in person, and we only ship to the billing address of the credit card used for payment. International couriers require a signature from the graduate in person on delivery. Only the graduate knows they have ordered from Degree Xpress and only the graduate can receive the graduation package. Confidentiality is protected. We use a reputable third party processor for credit and debit card payments, and the charge will appear on your statement as from 'Cashoo'. Note that for these orders we will only ship to the registered billing address of your card account. We also accept Western Union transfers. We are not able to accept international bank transfer, wire transfer, personal or corporate checks (cheques) or money orders. Regretfully, we are not able to accept bank funded payments at this time. Please note that specifying an address other than the billing (statement) address of the credit card/bank account used to pay your enrollment fee will result in your payment being automatically declined. Likewise, where we receive a payment from anyone other than the nominated graduate we will not process the order. These measures are essential to protect your privacy. I want to graduate as 'John Smith' but my credit card is in the name 'Mr J Smith' You have the opportunity when ordering to specify how you wish your name to appear on the diploma. We may need to contact you if the name you specify differs very greatly from the name on the credit card account you use to pay. To ensure graduation is not delayed, please ensure you give us correct telephone and email contacts, with a mobile if possible, so that we can contact you for any queries that may arise. Is payment secure? Totally secure. We only accept payment by credit card, bank transfer processed through an independent processor and secure server, or traceable money transfer, and we only accept orders where both the payer's name and billing address match those given on the enrollment form. Delivery is only by trackable international postal or courier service to the billing address and a signature is required. The interests of all parties are protected. How discreet is the Degree Xpress service? Very! Our name does not appear on your diploma, University letters, transcripts or records. It doesn't even appear on the delivery packaging or your credit card statement. The connection between Degree Xpress and your graduation is 100% confidential and never revealed at any time to anyone. The confidentiality agreements we have are a two way street - in our interest and in yours. What are my obligations? By enrolling and making payment you are declaring that you (the person named on the degree certificate) have appropriate life, work or prior learning experience to justify the award you are enrolling for. We generally do not demand documentary evidence, but we do expect you to only enrol for degrees which you legitimately have the knowledge and experience to warrant. Your experience may be independently verified by our consultants or a partner University. Discretion is assured. By enrolling and making payment you also agree to a legally binding confidentiality agreement which prevents you or any other person from directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, disclosing any link between the University awarding your degree and Degree Xpress. This is intended to protect the interests of all parties involved.
